It is predicted that the world population will increase by 9 billion by 2050. This population growth will lead to food insecurity. In order to mitigate these challenges, the prominent solution will be the growth in the agriculture sector. Moreover, attention given to making the agriculture sector more productive and sustainable will not only reduce the food insecurity but also will alleviate the poverty.
From 7 - 8 November, the International Conference on Agriculture, Food Security and Safety (AgroFood 2019) takes place in Colombo, Sri Lanka to engage in discussions aiming major development and challenges in the agriculture sector to achieve the global vision of mitigating food insecurity and eliminating the poverty.
