As part of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Vision 25 x 25, which aims to reach 25 million African farm households by 2025, the Africa Climate-Smart Agriculture Alliance (ACSAA) initiative aims to ensure that six million smallholders in Africa are practicing climate-smart agriculture (CSA) within the next seven years from 2014, when the Alliance was launched. The initiative will address multi-sectoral issues surrounding African smallholder farmers’ vulnerability to climate change; and build the capacity of national institutions and community-based organizations to transfer climate-smart farming skills to rural households.
